Devon

Devon is bordered by Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset and is the third largest county in England after North Yorkshire and Cumbria. This popular holiday destination contains the two natural parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor, lovely coastal towns, picturesque villages with their thatched cottages, charming pubs and a wealth of ancient history. The county boasts some of the finest beaches in England and the many pretty villages include Clovelly, one of the most famous villages in the world. Devon contains many fantastic places to stay including hotels, bed and breakfasts, guest houses and inns, plus an abundance of self catering accommodation such as cottages, chalets, apartments and caravan & holiday parks. In North Devon, you can enjoy miles of golden beaches, dramatic cliffs and the wild uplands of Exmoor. The coast was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1959 and consists of two defined Heritage Coasts. In South Devon, the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty includes superb walks and you can explore the coast with its wonderful beaches, historic towns, spectacular countryside, harbours and river valleys. The English Riviera, which includes Torquay, is one of the most visited holiday resorts and features a wonderful variety of attractions, lively seafront shops, bars and restaurants, plus charming old villages and busy harbours.
In West Devon, you will find the gorgeous scenery of the Tamar Valley, beautiful countryside and the ancient landscape of Dartmoor. East Devon is characterised by wooded combes, vast areas of heathland, river valleys and breathtaking cliffs and hills. The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty includes the East Devon section of the Jurassic Coast, which is England´s first natural World Heritage Site. In the heart of Devon, you can explore the unspoilt countryside and Devon’s thriving county town of Exeter with its rich heritage. Plymouth combines all the vibrancy of a modern city with the heritage of a historic port and its outstanding location between the moors and the sea makes it the perfect base for a great devon self catering.
